Employees of Lake Compounce Family Theme Park who sprayed coatings on park equipment and worked with caustic chemicals in the park's paint room were exposed to chemical, burn and respirator hazards, according to OSHA inspectors, who cited the Bristol facility for 18 serious violations of workplace safety standards.

Mere months after two employees were injured by dangerous machines, Burrows Paper Corp. again put workers at risk. Acting on a complaint, OSHA found workers unjamming and servicing machines without proper safeguards during an Aug. 25, 2014, inspection.
Plaid Enterprises Inc. was cited by OSHA for six safety violations that involved amputation, electrical and other safety hazards following an April 2014 inspection at the company's craft paint production facility located on Mellon Court in Decatur.
