OSHA has cited Simtek Inc. for alleged repeat and serious violations of workplace safety standards as well as failing to correct eight hazardous conditions cited during a 2011 OSHA inspection that was prompted by a worker injury.
OSHA has cited lumber manufacturer Shingleton Timber & Trucking Inc. for noise and safety hazards at its Augusta facility. OSHA initiated an inspection in January as part of the agency's National Emphasis Program on Amputations and found four repeat, three serious and one other-than-serious violation. Proposed penalties total $49,500.

OSHA has cited Tribe Mediterranean Foods, a subsidiary of Nestle SA, that manufactures Tribe brand hummus products, for 18 alleged violations of workplace safety standards following the death of a worker at its Taunton production plant.
OSHA has cited Ohio truck manufacturer Stahl/Scott Fetzer Co. for six safety violations – including one willful – after a worker had several fingers amputated while operating an unguarded press break March 19 at the Wooster plant.
OSHA has cited Illinois Gun Works Ltd. for 28 alleged health violations following a Jan. 21 inspection referred by the Illinois Department of Public Health that found two gun range operators were exposed to airborne lead levels up to 12 times the permissible level. Proposed fines total $111,000.
