Reggie Suga, CSP, CIH, CHMM, FAIHA, works at Agus Training Institute. He has over 35 years of experience in ES&H related fields. He is a Certified Industrial Hygienist, a Certified Safety Professional, a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, a Certified Human Performance Technologist and a Six Sigma Yellow Belt Champion. He has managed various projects in ES&H for both commercial and federal agencies including NRC, DOE, EPA, ACOE, Navy, Air force and others. He has provided technical support and oversight on many construction and decommissioning projects including waste disposal coordination. The hazardous metals that first come to mind related to welding and cutting are lead, chromium, zinc and perhaps beryllium. Manganese doesn’t have the same recognition in terms of risk in the general population.
