A.M. (Tony) Downes is the Global Process Safety Advisor for Honeywell PMT. He has been involved with Process Safety since 1979. Over the past 30+ years has launched or upgraded process safety programs at four major petrochem & specialty operating companies - most recently at Honeywell Performance Materials & Technologies.
In the process industries, poor safety performance has significant business implications. Plants need a comprehensive approach to the safety lifecycle addressing key requirements ranging from HAZOP studies, to operations and maintenance, and finally revalidation with the plant’s historian and maintenance data.
