Len joined the COVE team in 2018 and works with the team in developing curriculum for the Visual Literacy modules as well as facilitating many of the workshops. Len began his career teaching English at St. John’s Jesuit—when it was simply St. John’s. In 1992, he took a sabbatical and completed a year of volunteer service running a homeless shelter in Hazard, Kentucky as well as establishing a food pantry in cooperation with the Salvation Army at Hazard-Perry County Community Ministries.
One of the biggest wake-up calls I had recently was when I realized the detrimental impact biases have in the world of safety. Most people recognize that biases exist in “the other guy” but fail to see these preconceived notions in themselves. SPOILER ALERT: We all have them, and they are putting all of us at risk.
