Three organizations were recognized in their respective industry sectors: for implementing new safety practices and systems, for employing new technology, and for cleverly reconfiguring a worksite to gain health and safety advantages.

With close to 100,000 licensed businesses in the City of Chicago alone, Magid was one of only 196 businesses to make this list.

The award ceremony was a collaborative effort of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) as well as the National Safety Council (NSC) and held for the first time ever at the NSC Safety Congress & Expo.

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced the second round of Workforce Safety Innovation Grants awarded to advance worker safety in Ohio.

Funded through the Susan Harwood Training Grant Program, the grants are being awarded in three categories, namely Targeted Topic Training, Training and Educational Materials Development and Capacity Building grants.

OSHA received 195 submissions from competitors in 40 states, the District of Columbia and Guam.

Rory Mele, ASP, CHST, is a dedicated safety professional with 15 years of industrial experience, having spent eight of those years in the safety field.

The Challenge is a three-phase, $350,000 competition aimed at improving respirator fit evaluation. It seeks practical solutions that deliver real-time information on filtering facepiece respirator fit.

The 2023 awards include $305,500 in academic scholarships for 107 graduate and undergraduate students preparing for or supplementing their occupational safety and health careers at 52 colleges and universities.
