A New England supermarket chain’s opposition to OSHA citations led to additional legal action and ultimately, a settlement that goes considerably beyond correcting the company’s safety hazards.
OSHA has cited Refton, PA-based Quality Stone Veneer Inc. with eight safety violations, including one willful, for scaffolding hazards found during stone installation activities at a residential construction site in Hegins.

The U.S. Department of Labor's Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) says that federal inspectors issued 253 citations and orders during special impact inspections conducted at 15 coal mines and two metal/nonmetal mines last month.
