A man reportedly seeking money for drugs walked into a Whip-In convenience store in Garland, Texas in May, allegedly doused 76-year-old Nancy Harris with a flammable liquid and then set her on fire – after cleaning out the cash register.
The New Mexico Environment Department says it’s reached a settlement with Navajo Refining of Artesia for citations issued by the Department’s Occupational Health and Safety Bureau, or New Mexico OSHA.
OSHA has cited Lunda Construction Co. of Black River Falls with three serious safety violations after a worker was struck by a section of the crane he was assembling and killed April 20. The incident occurred at a construction site on Highway 41 south of Schuering Road near De Pere, Wisconsin.
OSHA has cited Logan Machine Co. of Akron, Ohio with 16 safety and health violations following a March inspection that was initiated upon receiving a complaint of alleged hazards. Proposed penalties total $66,600.
OSHA has cited seven construction companies – three Miami-based contractors and four San Antonio-based subcontractors – with 45 serious and one other-than-serious violation for exposing workers to asbestos hazards at a San Antonio construction work site. Proposed penalties total $148,000.
OSHA has cited Danco Precision Inc. in Phoenixville with 14 safety violations found at the company's manufacturing facility. OSHA's March investigation, initiated as part of the agency's Site-Specific Targeting Program for industries with high injury and illness rates, resulted in $55,500 in proposed penalties.

OSHA has cited MVP Kosher Foods LLC for 21 safety and health – including two repeat – violations at its Birdsboro facility. The company faces $140,000 in penalties following a February inspection initiated in response to a complaint alleging the hazards.
Scholar Craft Products Inc., doing business as Melsur Corp., has been cited by OSHA for 25 safety and health violations following an inspection at its Birmingham furniture manufacturing plant.
OSHA has cited Horizontal Well Drillers with three repeat and one serious safety violation for exposing workers to hazards at a drilling site in Jacksboro.
