OSHA has cited Omega Protein Inc. with 25 safety and health violations based on an inspection following the death of a worker who had been caught in a rotating screw conveyor at the company's processing plant in Moss Point.
OSHA has awarded $10.7 million through the Susan Harwood Training Grant Program to 72 nonprofit organizations, including community/faith-based groups, employer associations, labor unions, joint labor/management associations, and colleges and universities.
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) says it will be working with Designing Digitally, Inc. to create E-Learning modules to disseminate information about its standards -- specifically NFPA 13, Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems, and NFPA 72, National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code.
OSHA has cited Danco Precision Inc. in Phoenixville with 14 safety violations found at the company's manufacturing facility. OSHA's March investigation, initiated as part of the agency's Site-Specific Targeting Program for industries with high injury and illness rates, resulted in $55,500 in proposed penalties.
