The What Works Institute (www.whatworksinstitute.com), launched November 4, 2024, is a new research-to-practice think tank and learning community. The Institute is a collective of in-field and C-suite environmental, health & safety expertise; the best minds in EHS research, impact, and influence; and a team of community, experience, and implementation specialists. Benchmarking, networking, and research-to-practice insights and tools will be delivered at technology-accelerated speed. Experiential learning communities will be focused on industry, topical, and regional applications and challenges.

The What Works Institute and the Phlymar Group have formed a founding partnership to elevate EHS globally. Phylmar is a leading EHS and regulatory best practices network based in Los Angeles. The What Works Institute and Phylmar will launch a slate of new learning communities across diverse industry sectors, global regions, and topical research projects. Critical and emerging issues will be the focus, including modernizing metrics, holistic health & wellbeing, serious injuries and fatality prevention (SIF), human and organizational performance (HOP), psychosocial intersections, neurodiversity & EHS, heat stress and more. Existing networks focused on regulatory issues and BioPhama EHS best practices will be leveraged for global EHS community learning.

The Phylmar Group (www.phylmar.com) is a longtime nationally-recognized voice in facilitating communities of EHS and sustainability professionals, as well as a provider of training, consulting, and regulatory advocacy and insight. It was founded in 1997 by Mark Katchen. Phylmar Group’s networks include the Phlymar Regulatory Roundtable and BioPharma EHS Forum, as well as AFIRM, an apparel-oriented community.
