A bus crash early this morning in Arkansas claimed the life of one child and left dozens of other people – mostly children – injured, according to news sources.
Arkansas State Police say the incident occurred at 2:40 a.m. (3:40 a.m. ET). The vehicle involved was a chartered bus carrying a youth football team from a championship game in Dallas, Texas home to Memphis Tennessee.
The bus left the roadway and overturned along Interstate 30, west of Benton, Arkansas.
At least 40 people were injured and were taken to hospitals in Little Rock and Benton. The bus driver, who survived the crash, is being questioned by police.
