The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) has awarded a $1.1 million grant to the State of Louisiana to increase safety at railroad crossings along six miles of Kansas City Southern tracks from North Street to Louise Street in Baton Rouge.
The Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority – East (SLFPA-E) has filed a lawsuit alleging that approximately 100 companies cut at least 10,000 miles of oil and gas canals and pipelines through the state’s coastal lands – lands that protect most of the greater New Orleans area from catastrophic flooding.
OSHA has cited Louisiana Health Care Consultants LLC, Dean Building Holdings and Bob Dean Enterprises Inc. jointly for three alleged willful and 10 alleged serious violations of federal health and safety regulations. Proposed penalties total $112,000.
