President Trump’s plan to end a key Affordable Care Act (ACA) subsidy will cause health care premiums to spike and insurers to exit the market according to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), which estimated that the action would cause the federal budget deficit to rise by $6 billion next year and by $26 billion by 2026.
American Heart Association warns of “crushing”economic burden

A new study,by the American Heart Association (AHA), projects that if left unchecked, cardiovascular disease (CVD) will place a crushing burden on the nation’s financial and health care systems affecting 131.2 million Americans -- 45 percent of the total U.S. population – and costing $1.1 trillion.
The American Public Health Association is voicing strong opposition to the budget agreement passed earlier this month by the U.S. House of Representatives. The measure would slash funding for programs across the public health continuum — from efforts that prevent disease outbreaks to those that train health workers — and repeal the Affordable Care Act.

The American Public Health Association (APHA) has come out “strongly against” Congressional efforts to defund the Affordable Care Act just days before it takes affect. From a statement issued by the organization: “The proposed legislation would harm Americans in multiple ways..."
With polls continuing to show considerable confusion and apprehension over implementation and effects of the Affordable Care Act – also known as Obamacare – the federal government is hosting webinars intended to clarify the provisions of the act.
