Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Administrator Michael Huerta said the agency has selected the University of Oklahoma and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University teams to lead the new Air Transportation Center of Excellence for Technical Training and Human Performance (COE TTHP).

Better late than never seems to be the National Transportation Safety Board’s (NTSB) reaction to new Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) rules regarding pilot training. NTSB Chairman Deborah Hersman commended the FAA for finalizing the long-awaited rule, “which addresses recommendations stemming from accidents dating back more than two decades.”
In a final rule to be published soon, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is increasing the qualification requirements for first officers who fly for U.S. passenger and cargo airlines.
