Report finds inadequate management of gasoline storage tank overfill hazard

The US Chemical Safety Board (CSB) has voted on the final investigation report into the 2009 massive explosion at the Caribbean Petroleum, or CAPECO, terminal facility near San Juan, Puerto Rico; the report includes recommendations for addressing regulatory gaps in safety oversight of petroleum storage facilities by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

It’s “Truthland” versus “Gasland.” The American Petroleum Institute (API) hosted a film festival recently in Washington, D.C. during which excerpts from several pro-fracking films were screened. The event was a response to the critical-of-fracking documentary “Gasland,” by independent filmmaker Josh Fox.

The Global Petroleum Show (GPS) 2012 will kick off in the energy capital of Canada, Calgary, Alberta, on Tuesday, June 12 and run through Thursday, June 14 at Stampede Park.
The Guidance on the application of Globally Harmonized System (GHS) criteria to petroleum substances was developed by IPIECA (the global oil and gas industry assocation for environmental and social issues) to facilitate appropriate classification and labelling of petroleum substances within the Unknown or Variable Composition, Complex Reaction Products or Biological Materials (UVCB) group.
