The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) is issuing grants, OSHA is suspending enforcement activity and federal contractor requirements are being waived, all in an effort to assist with and expedite post-Harvey recovery efforts.
Companies who repeatedly violate safety regulations should have a tougher time getting federal government contracts, under new guidance published by the U.S. Department of Labor.
President Obama signed an executive order on Labor Day that requires federal contractors to provide up to seven days of paid sick leave a year to nearly 300,000 workers.
