In November 2024, OSHA addressed arc flash PPE for the 750,000+ industrial electrical workers who are still without it, by releasing new guidance to reduce arc flash injuries of industrial and commercial electricians. OSHA’s guidance includes both content for employers and a series of quick-reference materials for workers in the field, designed to clarify rules and dispel misconceptions impacting injuries and fatalities. OSHA explains the importance of electricians wearing protective apparel and PPE in its materials. In this webinar, we will provide a comprehensive review of the new OSHA arc flash materials. It can also serve the dual purpose of providing participants with an easily customizable slide deck so they can more easily communicate this information in their workplaces.Learning Objectives:
- Identify common electrical hazards in the workplace and their potential risks.
- Summarize OSHA’s recent initiative on arc flash and its impact on workplace safety.
- Locate and apply OSHA’s free resource materials to enhance electrical safety practices.
