OSHA has cited Design Roofing LLC for exposing employees to fall and other safety hazards at residential construction sites in Scott Depot and Culloden, West Virginia. The company faces proposed penalties of $101,988. OSHA inspected the two work sites after receiving complaints of employees working without proper fall protection.

OSHA cited Bluewater Construction Solutions Inc. for exposing employees to dangerous falls at two south Florida worksites. The Melbourne, Florida-based residential framing contractor faces proposed penalties of $48,778.

OSHA has signed an alliance agreement with CareerSafe to provide youth, aged 16-24, educators, and administrators with information and resources on the most common hazards encountered by new workers.

One man was killed and another injured at a New York City construction site when a large piece of glass fell from one of Manhattan’s tallest skyscrapers. According to news reports, 67-year-old security guard Harry Ramnauth died and a 27-year-old sustained injuries that required hospitalization when the eight-foot-by-14-foot glass panel fell at around 10:30 on Saturday morning.
