To manage effectively, information that tells management in real time how well the organizational and operational systems are performing in order is crucial.

Why my role exists, to me, is that it is simply for the people. The people I get to work with and for each day. When it’s about names, not numbers, there is a True North that continues to direct my vision of what World Class truly looks like.

Improving workplace safety and sustainability requires the ability to visualize trends in performance, anticipate and manage risks, and identify areas of concern — so they can be quickly and accurately addressed.

As part of the process of continual improvement, it is important that all incidents and accidents are recorded and investigated, and actions are taken to prevent or reduce the chance of recurrence.

The question is more relevant in 2016 than ever — and it’s just going to become more important in the coming years.
