The U.S. Department of Labor's regional solicitor's office in Boston has filed a complaint against DeMoulas Super Markets Inc., doing business as Market Basket, with the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission (OSHRC).
OSHA inspectors didn't have to use a GPS to find Northern Steel Casting, Inc. in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin: the company had already been inspected 24 times by agency personnel.

The U.S. Department of Labor's Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) today announced that federal inspectors issued 226 citations and orders during special impact inspections conducted at eight coal mines and three metal/nonmetal mines last month.
A release of methyl chloride last May brought OSHA inspectors to Akzo Nobel Surface Chemistry LLC in Morris, Illinois, where they found numerous violations of the agency's process safety management standards.
In FY 2010, OSHA conducted 40,993 total inspections. This number includes 164 significant and egregious (instance-by-instance) enforcement actions, each resulting in a total proposed monetary penalty of more than $100,000.
