Many of the thousands of attendees at Safety 2013 are making their way to booth 1185 in the Las Vegas Convention Center to vote in the Safety 2013 Attendee Choice Awards for the most innovative EHS products and services.

The American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) has announced that Industrial Safety & Hygiene News (ISHN) will sponsor a new best product competition during SAFETY 2013, to be held June 24-26 in Las Vegas (www.safety2013.org).

The White House should move forward immediately on OSHA’s Injury and Illness Prevention Program (I2P2) rulemaking, said Rick Pollock, president of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), in a May 16 letter to President Obama.

It isn’t often that the results of one’s safety efforts in the workplace are easily measured, but in the case of Jeremy Bethancourt, that measurement is 11. And counting. Since the Arizona businessman began developing and implementing strengthened fall procedures at Scottsdale, Arizona-based LeBlanc Building Co. in 2006, 11 construction workers employed by LeBlanc have had falls arrested, saving them from likely serious injury or death.

Although the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) says a majority of those attending Safety 2013 June 24-27 in Las Vegas will have many years of experience in the safety field, lots of students are expected to participate in the convention as well.

Attendees of Safety 2013 will soon be able to download an app for their iPhone, iPad or Android that will allow them to make the most of their convention experience.
