Cintas Corporation (NASDAQ: CTAS) announced that three of its locations in Canada have received Certificates of Recognition (COR) under the Canadian Federation of Construction Safety Associations (CFCSA) and the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (ISHA). COR is a volunteer management system for the reduction of human and financial costs of workplace incidents, injuries, and illnesses. The program is recognized across Canada as the standard high performance in health and safety, providing employers with an effective way to assess their health and safety management programs and systems.
Locations #888 in Lindsay, #897 in Toronto (a Distribution Center) and #881 in Torlake, Ontario are the first locations in Canada’s Ontario Province to be recognized for their commitment to workplace health and safety.
“We are extremely proud of our Canadian employee-partners for earning the esteemed COR certification,” said James Dawe, Group Vice President for the Eastern Canada Group. “The most important requirement for earning COR is demonstrating an ongoing effort of location management and front-line partners working together toward the common goal of eliminating workplace injuries and illnesses.”
The COR certification is one of the highest safety honors that companies in Canada can attain. COR certification is only awarded to businesses that complete detailed and rigorous training requirements, and successfully pass a comprehensive third-party audit.
As part of the Cintas culture, safety has become a “way of life” both at work and at home. Cintas Corporation has approximately 330 facilities throughout the world actively pursuing VPP recognition by OSHA or the equivalent under a similar certifying body. This includes operations in the U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom, Mexico and Honduras.
