Tex Tech Industries, a leading global developer and manufacturer of engineered, high-performance materials, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Universal Carbon Fibres Ltd (UCF), based in West Yorkshire, United Kingdom.
For over 30 years, UCF has designed and manufactured high-performance yarns and fabrics, predominantly from carbon-based fibers, for use in technical and extreme environments. The company specializes in innovative applications for automotive fuel cells and friction materials, fire blocking for the transportation and aerospace industries, and water-blocking technology for communication and power cables. UCF also markets inherently fire-resistant fabrics under the brand Panotex® for personal protective clothing.
“UCF’s engineered textile solutions are synergistic to the service and product offerings of Tex Tech and our subsidiaries,” says Ciaran Lynch, CEO of Tex Tech Industries. “UCF’s strong relationships with its customers and fiber manufacturers, as well as its robust manufacturing capabilities in the United Kingdom, will significantly strengthen Tex Tech’s international presence.”
Tex Tech’s sophisticated engineering and manufacturing position it as a leading supplier to the aerospace, defense, law enforcement, industrial, and sporting goods sectors. Global customers include Boeing, Airbus, Gulfstream, NASA, BAE systems, Penn, and Wilson. Tex Tech produces Core Matrix Technology™, a patented, protective material that is utilized in the most advanced ballistic vests worn by military and law enforcement. The company manufactures fire-retardant and thermal acoustic insulation for every major commercial aerospace platform and is also the world’s largest producer of tennis felt.
“Our partnership with Tex Tech will allow us to deliver value-added solutions to our existing and prospective customers,” says Bill Capstick, Managing Director of UCF. “UCF and our customers will greatly benefit from Tex Tech’s global distribution platform and manufacturing proficiencies, which will shorten our product development timelines.”
UCF will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Tex Tech and will retain its current leadership and staff and UK location. All operational procedures will remain unchanged.
