The National Safety Council is now accepting nominations for the NSC Rising Stars of Safety, presented by DuPont Sustainable Solutions. Awarded annually, this honor recognizes individuals younger than 40 who stand out in the safety field by displaying creative and innovative ideas. Candidates must also have five or more years of direct safety experience and a foundation of safety management.
“DuPont strongly believes that the NSC Rising Stars of Safety program garners the up and coming generation of safety leaders,” said James Weigand, president, DuPont Sustainable Solutions. “The individuals honored through this program provide important insights to help keep the workplaces of tomorrow safe.”
The Council invites organizations to submit a NSC Rising Stars of Safety nomination on behalf of an employee demonstrating safety leadership through practical examples of:
- Leadership attributes that set the nominee apart from his or her peers
- Initiating and/or leading a successful safety initiative with measurable results
- Engaging peers and transforming the safety culture of the organization
- Valuing safety as a critical part of business operations
“The National Safety Council is focusing on Safety: putting the pieces together this coming September at the 2014 NSC Congress & Expo,” said John Ulczycki, vice president of strategic initiatives at the National Safety Council. “Encouraging the next generation of safety leaders is an important part of ensuring future progress in the safety field.”
Selected NSC Rising Stars of Safety will be featured in Safety+Health magazine and will receive discounted admission to the 2014 NSC Congress & Expo, Sept. 13-19 in San Diego. Access to exclusive workshops and events is included to help honorees network and share their workplace safety ideas. The Council thanks DuPont for sponsoring the 2014 NSC Rising Stars of Safety program.
Candidates can be nominated online at nsc.org/risingstars by May 16, 2014. Organizations are allowed to nominate multiple candidates, but only one honoree will be chosen per company.
