In support of its alliance with OSHA, AIHA has developed a new “QuickTips” sheet to provide OHS professionals with information on safe patient handling and mobility.

Care givers are at risk of developing work-related musculoskeletal disorders from the excessive physical demands of manually handling patients, while patients may be at risk if these job task requirements exceed care givers’ capabilities.

This tip sheet helps OHS professionals identify these hazards and lists steps they can take to protect workers.
