Educational opportunities
Attendees can choose from an array of carefully selected opportunities led by verified safety experts. And because safety challenges come in all shapes and sizes, presenters make time for Q&A at the end of each session. Nationally recognized leaders will speak about current and future issues affecting the industry.
More than 100 technical sessions will cover the latest industry trends and provide the most comprehensive information needed to face today’s safety challenges.
Additionally, 25 professional development seminars will provide in-depth, hands-on opportunities to focus on career advancement.
The Expo marketplace
With 190,000+ square feet of exhibition space, the Expo will host more than 900 companies from around the world showcasing the latest innovative products and services in the following categories: general safety products, personal protective equipment, hazard controls and fall protection, facility maintenance and operation, environmental protection, ergonomics and risk management.
Attendees can compare vendors for a particular product in one place over the course of three days. The time and energy put into researching options is minimized — and face-to-face communication ensures questions are answered and needs are met.
There will also be a New Product Showcase area showcasing more than 100 safety solutions, OSHA’s Top 10 most cited safety violations and solutions from the International Safety Equipment Association.
Meet your host
The National Safety Council (NSC) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to save lives by preventing injuries and deaths at work, in homes and communities and on the road through leadership, research, education and advocacy. NSC advances this mission by partnering with businesses, government agencies, elected officials and the public to make an impact where the most preventable injuries and deaths occur, in areas such as distracted driving, teen driving, workplace safety, prescription opioid overdoses and beyond the workplace, particularly in our homes and communities.
Founded in 1913 and chartered by Congress, the NSC relies on research to determine optimal solutions to safety issues. Its educational efforts aim to change behaviors by building awareness, providing training and sharing best practices.
Outside the conference
California’s second largest city boasts more than 70 miles of majestic coastline and a gentle Mediterranean climate. Visitors can relax on one of the area’s many beaches, hike in the San Diego Mountains or explore San Diego’s thriving downtown districts like the historic Gaslamp Quarter, with its abundance of dining, shopping and cultural attractions all within walkable city blocks.
A stroll along the Embarcadero and lunch at Seaport Village are also popular options, as is a visit to the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum. Those who prefer a moving sea vessel can take a harbor cruise or sailing excursion. Catch the trolley for a quick ride to Balboa Park and the world-famous San Diego Zoo or Old Town San Diego.
