3M Detection Solutions is pleased to announce the addition of two intrinsically safe models, the Class/Type 1 SE-401-IS and the Class/Type 2 SE-402-IS to the 3M™ Sound Examiner SE-400 Series of sound level meters. Designed to work in potentially hazardous locations, such as those often found in the petrochemical industry, these brilliantly intuitive instruments are certified intrinsically safe to UL and DEMKO and offer users an intuitive interface for out-of-the-box use with little to no training.

3M™Sound Examiner Sound Level Meter Series
These advanced instruments compute the average sound pressure level (LEQ/LAVG) over the run time, in addition to measuring maximum, minimum and peak levels. The SE-400 Series also offer data logging for download and analysis with 3M™ Detection Management Software DMS. In addition, the SE-401 and SE-402-R models include a removable preamp for environmental noise applications.
