Export Global Metals Inc. (d.b.a. EG Metals Inc) is investing four million dollars in a state-of-the-art electronics end-of-life shredding and processing system becoming the first and only electronics processor in Oregon to have this capability.
As a R2/RIOS Certified Electronics RecyclerTM EG Metals Inc. will be able to provide secured chain of custody transport, full video documented destruction, and sorting of all computer electronics, specifically hard drives and circuit boards, into source metal commodities (copper, aluminum, tin, plastics, etc.).
“Being able to securely transport, process and separate computer electronic components domestically will increase our ability to service large commercial customers concerned about how and where their computers and their computer data is being processed.” Peter Van Houten, EG Metals Inc. GM / VP Operations.
Construction and implementation of the new equipment is expected to begin in July, with full production commencing by end of September, 2013. EG Metals expects this investment to have a positive impact not only on the expansion and quality of services provided, but will increase work force +25% when it goes into production with additional jobs projected to be created over the next year.
“This investment is not only good for our business, but it’s good for Oregon, for Hillsboro and for our customers.” Danny Jones, EG Metals Inc. President
