3M Personal Safety Division has expanded its personal protective equipment portfolio with new disposable respirators, stylish welding helmets, anti-fog safety eyewear, a rescue device and a breakthrough air filtration system.
An innovative filtration panel and proprietary gold catalyst technology make the 3M Versaflo AP-600 Series Air Filtration Panel an easy-to-use, easy-to-maintain supplied air filtration system. This panel may be ideal for certain uses in a variety of industries including automotive, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and construction. The Versaflo AP-600 Series panel can accommodate up to 5 to 12 users depending on the specific respirator configuration, reduce filter change time to approximately five minutes, and with the optional gold catalyst filter technology, it can help remove up to 95 percent of carbon monoxide present in the work environment up to 1500 ppm.
Style and safety go hand in hand with the Speedglas Graphic Welding Helmet 100 Series. The series, complete with smooth ratchet suspension, excellent optical quality, and reliable light-to-dark switching, now comes with two additional graphics: Tribute and Future Combatant. 3M’s Tribute line boasts a patriotic look and feel, and was designed to honor a fallen Navy SEAL. The Future Combatant line of helmets asserts a playful appearance and is designed to remind wearers of the popular pastime of video gaming.
Expanding its family of FDA Cleared respirators, 3M has introduced the VFlex 1805 and 1805S Health Care Particulate Respirator and the Aura 1870+. The VFlex 1805 Health Care Particulate Respiratorprovides users with enhanced comfort and ease of breathing made possible with the mask’s innovative pleated design. The VFlex 1805 is available in two sizes, to fit a broad range of face sizes.
The Aura 1870+features a flat-fold design that provides users with fluid resistance, and individual packaging to help ensure protection from contamination. The embossed top panel helps accommodate eyewear and reduce fogging, while a convenient chin tab allows for ease of positioning, donning, and adjusting.
The durability and reliability of Scotchgard protector can now be found in safety eyewear with Scotchgard Anti-Fog Lens Coatingavailable from 3M. The proprietary coating offers at 12 times longer lasting fog resistance than generic anti-fog, anti-scratch coatings when tested to the EN166 Standard, fog resistance test. Currently available in four different styles of 3M safety eyewear, Scotchgard coated lenses can withstand at least 25 washings with water and can hold up to disinfection with diluted bleach soaking or alcohol wipes.
3M’s portfolio also features a lightweight, unobtrusive rescue device contained in a small “backpack” that integrates rescue capabilities into personal fall arrest equipment. In the event of a fall, the 3M Elavation full body harness suspends the user and works with a Personal Rescue Devicefrom Latchways to gently lower a person to the ground, unassisted, in a controlled descent.
