ProAct Safety, Inc., a global leader of safety excellence strategies, is hosting an international public workshop to certify attendants in Lean Behaviour-Based Safety (Lean BBS®). The event, taking place August 6-8, in Amsterdam, will be led by Terry L. Mathis, founder and CEO of ProAct Safety. Attendees who complete the workshop, presented in English, will be certified for three years in ProAct Safety’s best-in-industry BBS methods. Mathis originally began integrating Lean manufacturing methodologies into BBS strategies in the early 2000s, realizing the substantial potential for significant gains by doing so.

Mathis and ProAct Safety president and COO, Shawn M. Galloway, are two of the first to bring advanced behaviour-based-safety thinking beyond North America, where the two esteemed safety experts are known for providing a unique set of tools and methods to help companies transformationally improve safety practices. “It doesn’t matter where in the world you work—you need to be able to do your work safely. Safe practices help companies assure their success. For that reason, we are dedicated to bringing proven Lean BBS safety excellence methods to enterprises in every part of the world,” said Mathis.

“ProAct Safety’s methods have been tested for many years in many different industries and sizes of organizations. Through this certification program, attendees gain the knowledge, skills and clear processes they need to train their own employees and make safety a part of each worker’s routine.” According to Mathis, European industries are increasingly calling for realistic, efficient BBS practices that are measured by quality results, not quotas. “BBS methodologies are proven to be effective, but the real challenge is fitting the approach to each company’s unique organizational culture. It’s important that safety not only be implemented efficiently, but also effectively,” said Galloway. “This workshop shares clear steps to help our international clients match our successful safety methods to their unique processes.” Mathis and Galloway are coauthors of STEPS to Safety Culture Excellence, a definitive guide on safety excellence.
