There's good news for those who head to their computer when seeking answers to occupational health and safety questions.
A team of Dutch researchers who evaluated the accuracy of the answers given on several online networks found that EHS experts are able to provide quality answers in that type of forum.
In findings published recently in Occupational & Environmental Medicine, the scientists applied an appraisal instrument to hundreds of randomly chosen answers to questions submitted to two Dutch online networks: ArboAntwoord and the Helpdesk of the Netherlands Center for Occupational Diseases.
The reseachers compared how the answers given agreed with the best available evidence in addition to using nine answer quality criteria
They concluded that OSH experts are able to provide quality answers in online OSH Q&A networks.
