"A Tribute to Alabama Coal Miners - Honoring those who lost their lives in the coal industry" is the theme of a solemn but musical gathering this Friday at the Tuscaloosa, Alabama Ampitheatre.
The event, which is free and open to the public, runs from 5-9 p.m. United Mine Workers of America International President Cecil Roberts will speak at the remembrance, along with former University of Alabama and Philadelphia Eagles football star Siran Stacy.
The entertainment lineup includes the Lamb Family violin ensemble, blues singer Carroline Shines, the Shelton State Singers and Holt's Second Baptist Church Mass Choir.
