Safety Starting Early (4/23)
U.S. Secretary of Labor
Elaine L. Chao appeared yesterday (April 22, 2008) on NBC’s
Today show to kick off OSHA’s national 2008 Teen
Summer Job Safety Campaign.
“The Teen Summer Job Safety Campaign educates teenagers on the importance of workplace safety and health habits that will help protect them and their coworkers at work,” Secretary Chao said in a department press release.
OSHA launched the fourth year of its youth public awareness campaign at Rockefeller Plaza in New York City, where the agency and teens from SkillsUSA, a nonprofit alliance program, demonstrated safe work practices for some of the most common tasks that teens are likely to encounter in summer jobs.
