Only eight percent of Industrial Safety & Hygiene News’ readers currently buy safety products over the Internet, according to a study ISHN conducted in March. Why isn’t more safety e-buying occurring, like we see with CDs and books? According to the survey:
  • Current corporate policies prevent it — 47%
  • Buyers want hands-on trials and demos — 34%
  • Buyers still have concerns about the security of transactions — 33%
  • Buyers are satisfied with existing purchasing channels — 30%
  • Extra services provided by current sales reps are valuable — 12%
  • Online shipping costs are too high — 10%
  • Prices are not low enough — 7%
  • Can’t get deliveries when needed — 6%
