The American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) has announced that it will be hosting the third installment of its workplace safety education series, titled “Stand Up for Standards.” The live webinar, which will focus on safety management systems, is scheduled to take place at 11 a.m. CT on March 29. ASSP’s “Stand Up for Standards: ANSI/ASSP Safety Management Systems” will specifically provide an overview and implementation practices for the ANSI/ASSP Z10.0-2019 standard.
The two-hour event will feature a lineup of safety experts, including Amy Timmerman, Danyle Hepler, Joe Wolfsberger, and Greg Zigulis. The experts will share their real-world experiences and offer practical guidance on how to reduce injuries, illnesses, and fatalities in the workplace. The webinar will also include a Q&A session and provide attendees with 0.2 continuing education units (CEUs) as well as digital copies of the Z10 safety management system standard and two implementation guides.
“Voluntary consensus standards provide expert guidance on industry best practices and fill gaps where federal standards don’t exist,” said ASSP. “Companies rely on them to drive improvement, injury prevention and sustainability. With government regulations slow to change and often out of date, compliance is not sufficient to protect workers.”
In addition to the webinar, ASSP will also be hosting a safety management systems workshop on March 30. The workshop will provide attendees with a more in-depth look at the ANSI/ASSP Z10.0-2019 standard and offer guidance on how to effectively implement and maintain a safety management system.
ASSP is a global organization with over 35,000 occupational safety and health professionals among its ranks. The society has been in operation since 1911 and is headquartered in Park Ridge, IL.
