Occupational safety and health professionals planning to attend the next SafetyFOCUS education event from the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) must register soon to secure the best rate. The winter session’s discounted early rate expires after Nov. 16.
The SafetyFOCUS in-depth education experience covers a broad range of topics and helps safety professionals expand their knowledge through collaborative learning to keep workers safe in all industries. The semi-annual hybrid event will take place Feb. 12-16 in Irvine, CA, and online, and Feb. 19-23 online only.
Using case studies, real-life examples and proven successes, expert instructors will explore key issues and provide new perspectives and strategies to help solve real-world workplace safety and health challenges. Held twice each year, SafetyFOCUS is ASSP’s second-largest education event.
The one-, two- and three-day courses are standards-based and focus on business and leadership skills, certification preparation, risk assessment and management, safety management systems and comprehensive worker well-being. Attendees build their own schedule to fit their unique professional development plan, whether they are new to the safety industry or a seasoned professional.
In-person courses will be held at the Pepperdine University Graduate Campus. Instructors will facilitate the courses from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. PT in the first week, and 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CT in the second week. Online education will be accessible through ASSP’s Live Virtual Classroom via Zoom. Participants will have the same positive and focused learning experience whether they attend in person or online.
Attendees who register for two weeks of training can earn up to 7 continuing education units (CEUs) that will help them maintain a range of professional certifications. Participants will also expand their professional networks and take away relevant information and practical guidance they can immediately implement to help their organizations prevent worker injuries, illnesses and fatalities.
Safety and health professionals can register online to get the best available rate. Groups of five or more from the same company can save by contacting ASSP Customer Service at customerservice@assp.org. ASSP members save on registration and get discounts on all of the Society’s education, training and workplace safety standards.
First-time attendees who have never been an ASSP member will receive a free one-year membership and complimentary memberships in a practice specialty and common interest group with a minimum spend.
