The American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) has created an alliance with Fulcrum – a field inspection management software company – to automate workplace safety and health inspections through a mobile app. The agreement will help ASSP and its 35,000 members worldwide make progress in keeping workers safe in all industries.
The agreement welcomes Fulcrum as a premier sponsor of ASSP and enables Society members to more easily use voluntary national consensus standards while simplifying safety inspections and other processes. Inspectors and other ASSP members may now get a free Fulcrum account that can help them perform inspections more efficiently, collect complete data that includes photos and video, share notifications immediately and automatically generate reports. Users also can access checklists and reference materials digitally.
“Our consensus standards are the foundation of workplace safety and health, and getting more of that valuable information to users advances our mission,” said ASSP President Christine Sullivan, CSP, ARM. “We’re always exploring new ways to reach a broader audience to improve worker safety.”
ASSP is a global leader in developing workplace safety and health standards, helping employers minimize on-the-job risks. Companies rely on the expert guidance material to drive improvement and prevent injuries, illnesses and fatalities.
Fulcrum’s mission is to automate field inspection management, reducing the time, cost and risk associated with inspections, data collection and workflow automation. The company focuses on safety performance optimization for workers in the field. Fulcrum’s Field Inspection Management platform automates field inspection workflows for more than 30,000 users.
“We are both solution-based organizations with an emphasis on worker safety, and this agreement enables us to maximize each other’s strengths,” said Fulcrum CEO Jim Grady. “We’re excited to support ASSP while helping our app users achieve safety compliance while safely achieving their missions on time and on budget.”
The one-year agreement is part of ASSP’s corporate sponsorship program, designed to maximize benefits to each organization. Safety teams get empowered, educated and energized by relevant and reliable resources.
“We’re improving the way we work with businesses that support the occupational safety and health profession,” Sullivan said. “When our core values align, we can better help safety professionals stay current on best practices. Our sponsors are often at the forefront of innovations, and these agreements help us connect our members to the latest industry developments.”
