Two workers are dead after a hazmat incident last week at a trucking company in Cleveland, Ohio.
News sources say 30-year-old Ashley N. Friedman was cleaning out a semi-trailer tanker at Kenan Advantage Group when she was overcome by fumes. When a co-worker, 60-year-old Alan Linder, attempted to rescue her, he, too fell unconscious.
Firefighters responding to the scene wore respiratory protection. They used a hoist in an effort to extricate the two employees before the Cleveland Fire Department hazmat team arrived.
Friedman and Linder were transported to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, where they died.
Kenan Advantage Group is a tank truck transporter and logistics provider, delivering fuels, chemicals, specialty products, food products and industrial gases through unique operating platforms.
OSHA is investigating the incident.
