A workplace dispute apparently led to a violent attack this morning at a Florida construction supply company in which an employee stabbed five people – four of them co-workers. The fifth victim was reportedly at the Dyke Industries Tallahassee facility for a job interview.
All of the victims were transported to Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare for treatment and are expected to survive. They are reportedly in conditions ranging from serious to good.
According to news reports, the incident occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. The alleged assailant, 41-year-old Antwann Demetris Brown clocked out at 8:20 a.m. after being involved in a verbal altercation with someone at Dyke Industries distribution center, where he’d worked for three and a half months.
Brown allegedly used a folding knife to inflict injuries and appeared to be targeting specific people, according to police. Some Dyke Industries employees were able to hold Brown captive until police arrived and took him into custody.
Dyke Industries sells residential and commercial building materials including interior and exterior doors, millwork, and windows, according to its website.
