A teenager who graduated from high school last month was killed July 2nd in a warehouse incident in Indiana.

News sources say 18-year-old Timothy “TJ” Rich Jr. died at an Aldi warehouse in Greenwood. Rich was loading a truck when a dock plate – a device used to bridge the gap between a truck and the warehouse floor – came down, killing the teen. Cause of death was determined to be asphyxia by mechanical compression of the neck.

The coroner’s investigation has determined that Rich died about 30 minutes before 911 was called, according to dispatch records.

Rich was a recent graduate of Whiteland Community High School. According to his obituary, he enjoyed video games and internet research and loved his dog, Captain

The Indiana Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the death. The Johnson County Coroner’s Office also launched an investigation.
