Honeywell announced today it has launched Uvex Avatar™ OTG safety eyewear, a new over-the-glass style designed to meet the changing needs of the U.S. workforce. Three out of four adults in the United States wear eyewear with corrective lenses according to research conducted by the Vision Council.

For workers who must wear prescription eyeglasses in industrial and hazardous environments, Avatar OTG fits right over their eyewear to provide additional safety and ergonomic advantages. The innovative new weight-distribution technology and premium adjustability features add comfort and protection over previous-generation models.

Avatar OTG is uniquely designed to disperse weight through the brow and nose piece. Multi-Material Technology® Plus (MMT+) on the brow, temple and nose touchpoints affords soft yet exceptional grip for reliable retention.

Customizable to fit a broad spectrum of face sizes and shapes, Avatar OTG features ratcheting temples for 15 degrees of angle-adjustment. Its ultra-adjustable nose piece offers three vertical positions and flexes to accommodate a wide range of nose bridge widths. Insulated wire-core temples allow for a personalized fit that’s safe for dielectric use.

Patented indirect venting technology promotes air circulation to significantly reduce lens fogging. Avatar OTG is available with anti-scratch protection to extend lens life as well as anti-reflective coating to improve optical clarity and reduce eyestrain from reflections and glare. 

Avatar OTG is available in three frame colors (Black & Black, Black & Red, Black & Blue) and two lens tints (Clear, Gray), making it suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Avatar OTG meets the ANSI Z87.1, and is tested by Honeywell to meet the Z94.3 standard.
