A conference program that encouraged Safety 2018 attendees to “Pay it Forward” by donating $25 or more to several good causes in the South Texas area has been canceled due to lack of participation. The donations would have been used to purchase items for kits that would have been assembled for St. Jude’s Ranch for Children Texas and Soldiers’ Angels.

St. Jude’s Ranch for Children Texas cares for children and families who have been affected by trauma, abuse and neglect. This organization provides a family living environment, preserves the sibling bond, and supplies the tools to break the cycle of abuse.

Soldiers’ Angels provides aid and comfort to the people of the United States Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, their families and a growing veteran population. Volunteers assist veterans, wounded, deployed personnel and their families. Soldiers’ Angels kits include travel-sized hygiene items. Soldiers’ Angels will have the charitable tax deduction receipt on-site.

The kits would have been assembled on-site at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center during the conference, and attendees were asked to assist with that process.
