Streamlight®, Inc., a leading provider of high-performance lighting tools to the fire service market, has introduced the Vantage® 180, a lightweight, multi-function light that easily attaches to full-brim fire helmets, and also can be used as a handheld or right-angle light.
The Vantage 180 securely attaches to helmets by means of an integrated stainless steel clip, designed for a variety of attachment methods and mounting positions. The “quick release” helmet bracket allows for easy detachment of the light from helmets, so that it can be used as a handheld or pocket light, or hooked to turnout gear. The light’s180-degree rotating head automatically changes an ultra-bright blue safety taillight to a white flood down light when the head is set at a 90-degree angle.
“The Vantage 180 is the ideal hands-free light for firefighting personnel and other first responders who require lighting tools that are not only extremely bright but also very versatile,” said Streamlight Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Michael F. Dineen. “Its integrated bracket design makes it extremely easy to use as a helmet light, or for removal for use as a handheld or right angle light. And it also offers a blue rear safety LED so fire professionals can be followed in even the thickest smoke, as well as a white downcast light to help them navigate in extreme conditions.”
Featuring the latest in LED technology, the Vantage 180 offers two settings, high and low. On high, it provides 250 lumens, 7,200 candela peak beam intensity, a beam distance of 170 meters and a run time of four hours. On low, it offers a run time of 12 hours, 100 lumens, and 2,650 candela over a beam distance of 103 meters. The light features a custom optic to provide a narrow beam with optimum peripheral illumination to aid in navigation. It uses two 3-volt CR123A lithium batteries, and is operated by using a body-mounted, push-button switch that allows for one-handed constant “on” operation.
Measuring 5.2 ounces high, the Vantage 180 weighs only 5.5 ounces. It features a body constructed of high-impact, super-tough nylon, chemically resistant engineered polymer for exceptional durability and a sure grip. Featuring an IPX7 rated design for waterproof operation to one meter for 30 minutes, the light is also one-meter impact resistance- tested.
The Vantage 180 is available in orange or black. It has an MSRP of $125.00, and comes with Streamlight’s Limited Lifetime Warranty.
