The following is a statement from ASSE President Tom Cecich:

“ASSE is sad to share news of the passing of Jerry Ray, ASSE’s 1997-98 President and a well-liked and highly respected leader of the occupational safety and health profession. On Tuesday, July 26, Jerry was in a serious motorcycle accident in New Mexico, and he passed away earlier today, Aug. 3, 2016.  We have heard from many ASSE members who have been keeping Jerry and his family in their thoughts and prayers. Jerry's family shared a Caring Bridge link (https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/fighterjerry ) that provides more information and an opportunity to share your thoughts and recollections with Jerry’s family. ASSE Board of Directors members and staff have many fond memories of working with Jerry, and offer their thoughts and prayers to the Ray family as well.”
