Giant retailer Ikea is recalling approximately 29 million dressers that are prone to tipping over – particularly if a young child tries to climb on them.
The recall of the “Malm” series came after the deaths of three children who were crushed by the dressers.
The company is also offering a free repair kit to enable owners to anchor the furniture to a wall.
Ikea dressers are not the only household items that endanger children. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, 38,000 children are injured and 430 killed each year by a falling piece of furniture or a television.
