At the Safety 2016 expo it's clear OSHA's emphasis on preventing serious fall injuries and fatalities has caught the attention of PPE and facility safety vendors.
Many booths showcase safety railing systems, ladders with fall protection caging, work platforms with fall protection safeguards, fall protection harnesses, self-rescue devices, slip-resistant flooring and protection against dropped objects. One vendor displayed an over-sized cushion similar to what pole vaulters fall into. Another promoted “rooftop safety solutions.”
Probably more than any other single hazard, falls and working at heights are the key focus of PPE and facility safety vendors at this year's expo.
