Institute for Safety and Health Management (ISHM), an accredited provider of certifications for EHS professionals, has elected three health and safety professionals with experience in emergency response, oil and gas, and OSHA compliance to its board of directors.
Gayle Fratto, Larry Sloan, and Randy Gray have been elected to serve six-year terms, expiring in 2021. They replace Randy Morton, Chairman; Tom Slavin, Secretary; and Magdy Akladios, Member. Morton will continue to serve as the Immediate Past Chairman. Election of officer positions will take place Sept. 27, 2015 at ISHM’s annual board meeting in Atlanta, Ga.
“ISHM seeks to represent the interests of a variety of industries in order to better serve our customers with valuable certifications focused on the whole safety management process. The insight provided by individuals with different EHS backgrounds improves the quality of our programs,” said Larry Curtis, CEO of ISHM.
“We appreciate the service of the retiring board members and look forward to taking advantage of the subject matter expertise of incoming members,” he continued.
Gayle Fratto, Certified Safety Management Practitioner (CSMP), is a Pro-Board Certified Firefighter, Hazardous Materials Technician, and IICRC Water Restoration Technician. After 20 years of service in emergency response, he now serves as Assistant Director for Environmental Health & Safety at West Virginia University. “The reality is that people take many different paths to EHS careers. ISHM recognizes that diversity of backgrounds, education, and experience, which is a valuable service to safety professionals,” said Fratto.
Larry Sloan, Certified Safety and Health Manager (CSHM), has more than 35 years of experience in oil, gas, construction, and fabrication. As a professional safety consultant, he has worked with nearly all of the major oil and gas companies at senior management level to deliver training and program development, and facilitating communication, problem solving and culture development. He is currently working on projects for VITOL.
Randy Gray, CSHM, President of Grayhawk Safety & Health Consulting Co., specializes in providing comprehensive safety and health audits and litigation support.
