Protective Industrial Products, Inc. (PIP) is pleased to announce it has recently broken ground on a multimillion dollar expansion of its PRI Industries, Inc. (PRI) manufacturing facility in Chaska, MN. The addition will double the amount of manufacturing space and allow the installation of new equipment that has been acquired over the last year. This expansion will allow the PRI facility to support demand for domestically produced, high performance protective products.
Started in 1981 by Phil Robins, and today under the leadership of his son Steven, PRI has expanded to manufacture the most comprehensive line of high performance knit gloves and sleeves that protect workers in the automotive, aerospace, construction, food processing, and metal fabrication industries. These state of the art products are manufactured with materials such as DuPont Kevlar® and DSM Dyneema® as well as proprietary blends, using materials like stainless steel and carbon fibers.
With the increase in production, PIP expects to add at least 10 new positions at the PRI plant over the next few years. “We are delighted to be adding more American manufacturing jobs to meet the safety demands of the American worker,” PRI President Steven Robins said.
The expansion and new capacities are targeted to be operational by the end of the year. Protective Industrial Products, Inc. proudly owns three domestic manufacturing facilities making personal protective products in the United States.
