A man working alone, doing maintenance work on a water tower in Baraboo, WI, was seriously injured when he fell into the tower, according to a release from Baraboo city officials.
Police said when they arrived they found the man had fallen inside the water tower.
The man was a contractor performing maintenance work on the water tower, according to the release. LC United Painting, of Sterling Heights, MI, is the primary contractor on the project, which involves cleaning, repair and painting the tower.
The worker fell from one platform to another inside the tower. Fortunately, he did not complete what could have been a potential 70-foot fall.
A technical rescue was performed to lower the injured worker to safety, officials said. Having sustained serious injuries, he was transferred to a nearby hospital by helicopter.
