Workplace eye injuries send 300,000 people to the ER each year nationwide, according to the CDC. As expected, 40% of on-the-job eye injuries happen in the expanding fields of construction, mining and manufacturing.
The surprise: workers in leisure and hospitality suffered 1,250 eye injuries on the job in one year, according to the latest labor injury statistics, and education and health care employees logged 1,820, making them some of the fields with the most annual eye injuries outside of an industrial setting.
